Portfolio: Neon Puzzle Cubes
A probabilistic algorithmic composition that utilizes an eye tracking interface.
Shown here is the user interface in Neon Puzzle Cubes. The three cubes and scene disk are manipulated using the using the Tobii 4C eye tracker.
Using the Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, Unity Engine, and Max MSP, an interface was designed for controlling a composition. Each cube was assigned an instrument that contained several pre-composed motives. When the user gazed at a part of the cube, it would spin like a die. Once the cube stop rotating, its positional information was used to choose one of the pre-composed motives. This gave the impression that one was improvising during the live performance of the composition.
